Transferring info from desktop computer to laptop 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Hi guys
I have a problem again. I have a laptop with Vista installed and a desktop with XP installed.
I run Microsoft Money on my XP which I had to load from disc. I do not use the internet link facility as I bank on line seperately and keep my money file up to date as necessary.
I tried to transfer the detail on the money file to my laptop after loading the same programme from the disc.
It will accept the programme ok but will not accept the infromation from an archive disc or stick. All other information contained in my documents file will transfer with no problem, but the money file does not transfer.
A message says that the then file cannot be accessed because of password problems etc. The file is password protected on the XP but does not work on the Vista.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Eric,

Have you tried temporarily removing the password in XP then e-mailing to yourself before opening in Vista?

Just a thought.
